Cassiano Aimoli
Visiting Scientist

Cassiano is from Santos, Brazil. He attended the State University of Campinas (Brazil), where he earned a B.S. in Chemical Engineering and a Master’s degree in biopolymer membrane synthesis and characterization. After completing his degree, he joined Petrobras, the Brazilian national energy company. With over 16 years at Petrobras, he recently served as the leader of the natural gas processing technical team, focusing on acid gas separations. Cassiano completed his Ph.D. in 2015, with additional research experience at the University of Notre Dame, USA, where he studied thermodynamic and transport properties through molecular simulations. As a Visiting Scientist in the Smith Lab, Cassiano will work on both theoretical modeling and experimental methods to improve acid gas separations. In his free time, Cassiano enjoys running, playing the guitar, and drumming.
