Andrea Giovanelli
Visiting Graduate Student

Andrea is from Osimo, Italy. He attended the University of Pisa, where he got his Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Chemistry, and the Scuola Normale Superiore. For his master’s thesis, he worked on the synthesis and Solid-State NMR characterization of fluorinated MOFs, under the supervision of Prof. Marco Taddei and Prof. Marco Geppi. Currently, he is a PhD candidate in the groups of Prof. Andrea Pucci and Prof. Marco Geppi, focusing on the synthesis and Solid-State NMR characterization of Ion Exchange Membranes. During his period at MIT as a visiting PhD, Andrea will work on PIMs to gain insight into their sorption mechanism and properties. During his free time, he loves cooking, jigsaw puzzles, and playing video games.
