Luca Fois
Visiting Graduate Student
Luca Fois was born and raised in Milan, Italy. He received his bachelor’s and master’s degrees in Chemical Engineering from Politecnico di Milano, with master’s thesis inherent to the CFD study of fluidized bed reactors under the supervision of Prof. Alberto Cuoci in CRECK Modeling research group. After this, in the same School, he undertook his Ph.D. in Industrial Chemistry and Chemical Engineering, working mainly on mathematical modeling of detailed kinetic schemes related to emulsion polymerization processes of high performance perfluorinated polymers, under the supervision of Prof. Giuseppe Storti and Prof. Mattia Sponchioni, in CFALab research group. Currently, Luca is a visiting Ph.D. student at MIT in the Smith Research Lab to investigate the effect of fluorination on gas sorption in microporous polymer materials. In his spare time, Luca enjoys working out and going out with friends.
