Wan-Ni Wu
Graduate Student
Wan-Ni grew up in Chiayi, Taiwan, and received Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering from National Taiwan University (NTU) in 2019. Wan-Ni has been interested in energy-related research. From her sophomore to senior year, Wan-Ni worked in the Electro-Optical Materials Lab with Professor Kuo-Chuan Ho on electrospun polymer electrolytes for electrochromic devices. After starting her PhD at MIT, Wan-Ni became interested in developing membranes for low energy consumption separation processes. She joined the Smith lab in 2020 and her current research is focused on mixed-matrix membranes (MMM) consisting of polymers of intrinsic microporosity (PIM) and metal organic framework for gas separation and organic solvent nanofiltration. Outside of lab, Wan-Ni enjoys reading and cooking. She is currently a member of the MIT Table Tennis Team.
